20th Annual Ron Kolbus Memorial Charity Golf Tournament





Our mission in hosting this annual charity golf tournament is to provide a special day for our clients while giving back to the community. As a result, all funds raised over the past 19 years, have gone towards various charitable organizations & great local causes. Some of the organizations that have benefited from our tournament in the past include:

The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa is an organization dedicated to providing programs and activities to kids 6-18 years of age with a particular emphasis on the most disadvantaged. The Boys and Girls Club supports the view that recreation, sports and cultural programs are protective factors for youth in the prevention and reduction of antisocial and self-destructive behaviors.  For more information please see: http://www.bgcottawa.org

Habitat for Humanity (Greater Ottawa)  is a non-profit housing organization that builds simple, decent, affordable housing for low-income working families. Homes are built with donations of money, land, building materials/ services and are constructed by volunteers. The homes are sold to families with no interest long term mortgages. The mortgages paid to Habitat are recycled back into the program to build more homes in our community. Families who qualify agree to invest a minimum of 500 hours of their own time into building their house and those of others. The Youth Services Bureau promotes change in youth to enable them to become productive members of their community and attain their full personal potential. The Olde Forge Community Resource Centre is a non-profit, charitable organization run by a handful of staff and a dedicated corps of volunteers. The Olde Forge provides an information and referral service to the community at large and a community support program to seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in the west end of Ottawa. As well, the Olde Forge provides some other services for the greater Ottawa area, such as a weekly foot clinic and annual tax clinics for seniors and adults with physical disabilities.  For more information please see: http://storm.ca/~forge/

The Kidney Research Centre and the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, have a very important fundraising initiative this year. The Centre’s research activities is focused on the prevention, detection and treatment of kidney disease and high blood pressure associated with it.  This research is destined to improve the lives of people affected by kidney disease.  Importantly, this year’s tournament will raise funds to support a special cause:  The Jindal Campaign which is focused on the prevention of kidney disease. Through the skills and dedication of volunteers and employees, The Snow Suit Fund strives to provide community based support of children in need with integrity, empathy, compassion and sensitivity. Easter Seals Ontario offers programs and services to help children and youth with physical disabilities succeed by achieving a greater level of acceptance and independence. Services include: financial assistance for mobility equipment and communication devices; fully accessible camp and funding for other summer recreational programs; providing access to information and resources, and public education and awareness. Christie Lake Kids serves economically disadvantaged children and youth by providing recreation and skill-building programs at no cost and with all barriers to participation removed.  Our mission is to enrich the lives and prospects of economically disadvantaged children, by providing quality year-round community and camp programs to develop physical, artistic, and social skills, positive attitudes and personal qualities.
